San Antonio Fire Department - OLLU Partnership
Serving Those Who Serve Our Community
As a proud partner with the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD), Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) is pleased to offer SAFD employees special education benefits and tuition reductions.
OLLU offers the following benefits in recognition of the crucial service you provide the community. OLLU was a grateful recipient of these services in 2008 when a devasting fire occured in the university's Main Building. Thanks to the work of the fire department, fire damage was contained to the fourth floor of the building.
Like the fire department, OLLU has a keen focus on service to the community. OLLU was the first higher education institution in the region to offer alternative scheduling to support working adult students. OLLU pioneered the weekend degree program concept in San Antonio more than 45 years ago. Today the weekend degree concept is part of the university’s array of nontraditional scheduling options that include evening, weekend, online and hybrid programs designed for working professionals who need to balance work, family and school.
