Areas of Expertise
My research interest broadly covers aging and mental health issues, including multimorbid/comprehensive healthcare needs in the aging population, problem drinking in baby boomers, dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Social Determinant of Health (SDOH), help-seeking behavior, service utilization, focusing—a means to care mental health, gerontechnology, minority/immigrant older adults, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), cultural humility, and intergenerational relationships.
Teaching Philosophy
As a social work educator, my teaching philosophy focuses on 1) facilitating social work students to develop their professional viewpoint and attitude, 2) creating a culture of a mutually respectful classroom on the basis of cultural humility, and 3) helping students equip with the research-practice-policy collaboration in their future social work practice.
Outside Interests
Out of the university, I like cooking, singing at home, walking in a park, playing tennis or golf, and learning something new. I also love to share K-pop and K-culture with anyone who is interested.
