Areas of Expertise
Accounting Education and Training: Extensive experience in curriculum development and teaching methodologies tailored for accounting students preparing for the CPA exam. Expertise in facilitating successful CPA exam preparation through her leadership with the Becker CPA Review program. Professor Avila teaches all the financial accounting courses, Cost Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Ethics for accountants, and International Business.
Professional Experience: Diverse background encompassing employment with the 'Big Four' accounting firms, small businesses, and major corporations, providing a broad perspective on accounting practices in various settings.
Leadership and Program Management: As Chair of the Department of Business and Program Head of Accounting at OLLU, Professor Avila oversees the department's strategic planning, resource management, and personnel development and represents the department to various stakeholders.

Professor Avila is deeply committed to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. She believes in the transformative power of education and emphasizes the importance of hard work, ethics, and values in shaping students for success in the accounting profession. Her teaching approach prioritizes interactive classroom experiences, aiming to educate, transform, and inspire students by demonstrating the endless possibilities that emerge from dedication and a strong work ethic.

Faith: Committed to serving God and integrating faith into daily life and professional endeavors.
Family: Values family and devotes time to her husband and children, actively supporting their educational and personal endeavors.
Travel: Enjoys exploring diverse cultures and customs globally and is particularly fond of Sweden. She’s traveled as far as Russia and Bali.
Tennis: Actively participates in amateur tennis leagues within the local community.
