Worden School PhD student follows mentor to OLLU
For one student, the path to OLLU's PhD program in social work began in crisis. At the age of 13, Carol Meza Bakke experienced domestic violence, physical abuse and rejection.
No extra fees for textbooks for undergraduates
Beginning in fall 2020, there will be no extra fees for books and digital course materials for OLLU undergraduate students. Textbooks will be available through the Bookstore at the beginning of the semester and digital materials will be available through Blackboard.
After horrific accident, Robertson siblings give back to their beloved OLLU
Thanks to the generous funds provided by Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) athletics' newest donors - Joshua Robertson and Erica Robertson ('20 BS) - the university's soccer field will feature many new amenities. Erica played on the women's soccer team from 2015-2018, and Joshua is her brother.
Professor Benavides wins national media award for commentary
Yvette Benavides, professor of English, won first place in commentary from the Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA) for her piece, "The Human Cost of a Broken Border," which aired in June 2019 on "Texas Matters" on Texas Public Radio (TPR).
Planning for fall: After Thanksgiving classes will go online
Of special note is an important change for the fall semester: Following the Thanksgiving break, all classes will move to remote/online instruction for the remainder of the fall semester. Students will be allowed to remain in the residence halls and use campus facilities and services, but classes and final exams will all be online.
