Cyber Saints Represent OLLU at National IT Collegiate Conference

Apr 15, 2025

Three students from Our Lady of the Lake University’s Computer Information Systems and Security (CISS) program—Cesar Reyes, Rose Vasquez, and Jennifer Vaquera-Luna—recently showcased their cybersecurity skills at the U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC) held March 27–29 in Springfield, Missouri.

The national event welcomed 170 participants from 15 colleges and universities, including 133 students, 24 faculty members, and 13 industry professionals. Each of OLLU’s “Cyber Saints” competed in two events, gaining valuable hands-on experience and engaging with real-world IT challenges.

“Team Cyber Saints did well in their first competition of this type,” said Dr. Kelly Roberts-Cooper, Assistant Professor and faculty advisor. “I’m so proud of this group!”

The USITCC offers students a chance to compete, network with industry leaders, and explore pathways into the ever-evolving world of information technology and cybersecurity.
