OLLU ranks among the top 35 schools in the West South Central Region for Initial Teacher Certification Bachelor’s Degrees in Education for 2021, according to educationdegree.com.

Bachelor-level initial teacher prep programs in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas (TOLA) were assessed on the quality of professors, academic excellence, teaching opportunities and reputation. 

OLLU was among 20 schools in Texas that made the top 35. 

Educationdegree.com wrote, “A certification exam pass rate of 100 percent among education students during the 20170-18 academic year, outstanding opportunities to get involved through organizations like the Bilingual Education Student Organization and the Texas Association of Future Educators, and the superb practical experiences through close partnerships with local school districts -- these are just a small sample of what makes Our Lady of the Lake University’s undergraduate teacher preparation programs some of the best in the region.
