Leadership Studies Professor Esther Gergen, PhD, (MBA 2001, PhD 2009) has been appointed to the 11-member City of San Antonio’s Ethics Review Board (ERB). 

A graduate of the OLLU Leadership Studies program and the current Leadership Studies program chair, Dr. Gergen will represent District 4 on the ERB. The ERB enforces City Code and sanctions violations related to ethics, lobbying and municipal campaign finance. The board strives to promote integrity, independence and impartiality of service by city officials, employees and others whose actions may affect the public faith in city government.

A local resident since 1995, Dr. Gergen is excited to serve on the ERB.

“This service to my community is near and dear to my passion for ethical leadership and the development of an environment of transparency for our city government,” she said. “I am hopeful about the opportunity this appointment provides to my own personal leadership growth and community service in representation of our beloved OLLU.” 

Dr. Gergen previously served on the Citizens Administrative Review Board of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) from 2018-2020. SAPD leadership recommended her for the Ethics Review Board.
