Baptist Health gives $43,000 for scholarships

Sep 23, 2019

The Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio (BHFSA) has awarded OLLU graduate students $43,000 in scholarships. The foundation, which has supported OLLU students for more than a decade, has now given more than $500,000 in scholarships since 2006.

The latest gift will benefit graduate students in the Communication and Learning Disorders, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy and Social Work programs.

BHFSA grants scholarships to area students pursuing health care careers. Although its priority is funding future nurses, BHFSA also grants scholarships to students pursuing academic degrees that support the core purpose of its program. Those degrees include social work, psychology, counseling and health care.

BHFSA’s mission closely aligns with the mission of OLLU: to prepare students for success and continued service.
