Areas of Expertise
I have over 20 years of teaching experience including online, classroom, and hybrid formats. My teaching strengths include utilizing technology and applying what we know about learning and memory from the field of cognitive psychology.
I have expertise in statistics, research, cognition, health psychology, and wellness.
Additionally, I have consulted for major corporations on training design and technical
writing.
Teaching Philosophy
Broadly, my approach when working with students is to balance supportiveness with promoting responsibility. As a first generation student myself, I understand the complexities of entering a new landscape of opportunity in college. I strive to maintain teaching environments that help students “learn how to learn” using structure, organization, rich resources, and self-application of material.
Outside Interests
I love being in nature and outdoor activities. Hiking and camping with my husband are at the top of my list for self-care and a full life.
